QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK
1. Our thoughts have a great impact on our actions. Paul says our thoughts influence our love, spirit, and understood purpose (Phil. 2:2). Ultimately, they affect how we treat others. Where is an area your thoughts are negatively influencing your actions?
2. It is difficult to control our thoughts, but they have an outward impact on how we treat others. We all have difficult relationships. What do you think of that person? How do you feel about them? What thoughts do you need to control? How can you look to their interest (Phil. 2:3-4).
3. Verses 12 and 13 in Philippians 2 seemingly argue against each other. How do you “work out your own salvation” and believe that God is “working in you”? Simply put, “work” here means to make known externally what God has already done for you internally. Where is an area of your life that needs a bit more external evidence of God’s internal work?
