Questions for the Week
1. There has been a trend of people formerly claiming Christ that are “deconstructing” their faith. Often, it is because of a disconnect between biblical teaching and societal pressure. Where do you feel the most pressure from society to bend biblical teaching? How can you strengthen yourself against that pressure?
2. In 1 Timothy 4:7-8, Paul says to train yourself for godliness. What does that mean in your life? If you were to do an inventory of how you spend your waking hours, what gets too much of your time? What gets too little? How can you make adjustments?
3. We are not sure exactly how old Timothy was when Paul wrote to him in 1 Timothy 4 – probably in his 30’s! That’s not exactly a “youth” as we think today but still younger than some of the people he would be leading. Where do you fear leadership? Why? How can you set an example for others despite any perceived shortcomings?
