God’s Word brings history into being...years and often, centuries, before it is acted out in His love letter to us. This verse details what we know would become true – Bethlehem would be the birthplace of Jesus and He would reign forever. If the Bible foretold Christ’s birth with such accuracy, why don’t we trust it (Him) when we need guidance? God’s Word never fails–it’s us who fail to seek what the Lord has already provided in detail. God’s promises standfast forever and ever. My prayer for our church this week is that we would become so immersed in the Word that we KNOW it’s true not just from the words written on a page but from the writing on our own hearts.
