Zechariah 2:10-13 (HCSB)
10 “Daughter Zion, shout for joy and be glad, for I am coming to dwell among you”—this is the Lord’s declaration. 11 “Many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day and become My  people.  I will dwell among you, and you will know that the Lord of Hosts has sent Me  to you. 12 The Lord will take possession of Judah as His portion in the Holy Land, and He will once again choose Jerusalem.  13 Let all people be silent  before the Lord, for He is coming from His holy dwelling.”

Sing and rejoice! When things don’t go my way or I feel left out, pouting and spouting ugly words is so much easier than singing and rejoicing just like the people in this passage. They were beginning to lose heart when God provides a timely promise. Their city without walls would be protected by the Lord, their land will prosper! Zechariah tells the people to sing and rejoice even though their outlook could be doom and despair. God was faithful then and He is faithful now. Let’s sing and rejoice no matter our current circumstance; God knows every step that got us here and every step going forward–if we walk through it pouting or rejoicing is up to us.
