Daniel 6:1-9 (HCSB)
Tyler Ubelhor Today’s reading starts our week off with a story that many of us are familiar with! In verses 1-9 we see that Daniel is made one of the three administrators (some translations use the term presidents or governors) for the newest addition to the Persian kingdom. And on top of that, he is favored among the others because of his “extraordinary spirit”! When reading this set of verses, God keeps reminding me of the missionaries all over the world that are working to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Specifically, the ones in countries that aren’t open to the Gospel. These missionaries are doing what God has called them to do but in constant conflict with people, governments, and enemies trying to prevent them from spreading the Gospel. Take time throughout today to pray for these men, women, and their families.
