Sunday Connect Lesson for August 20, 2023
The Worthy One
John's account of the vision of Revelation was written around the mid-90s AD.
Study The Word: With the apostle John, in Revelation 4 and 5 we step into the throne room of God. We cannot help but join in worship.
Key Truth: God, our holy Creator, is worthy of worship (Revelation 4:1-11). His throne is dazzling, surrounded by worshipers. All of our senses are involved as we visualize the worship of the living creatures and the 24 elders.
Key Truth: God, our crucified Redeemer, is worthy of worship (Revelation 5:1-14). The scene expands as the Lamb who was slain is proven to be the only One worthy to open the scrolls. Every creature in Heaven, and under the earth joins in praise to Him.
Family Connection: Continue the discussion after church!
What do you think about what John saw in Heaven? What does it mean that God is perfectly Holy? What are some aspects of creation for which we can express praise and worship to God?
