Message from Pastor H.D.
“In the Beginning God” - this is some of the most foundational words in the bible. It tells us that there was a “beginning” and that there was a design and plan for our world. Plus it tells us how it began… with God. We don’t have to worry about “Who” made us or “How” He made us because it is simply stated “in the beginning God”. Without God as our Creator, we are just a chance, a process, or an accident. That’s not too encouraging and I’m so thankful that God has revealed Himself to us through creation but also ultimately through His Son.
While Genesis starts off “in the beginning God”…. John fleshes that out for us even more when he says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created. Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men.” (John 1:1–4, HCSB)
I hope you will enjoy reading through parts of Genesis and the Gospel according to John. Both of the texts are rich with the Love that God has for us. Read each day and come prepared to share in your Connect Class each Sunday. You will be amazed at how much more you will enjoy your church experience when you are prepared to share and worship.
Susan and I are excited about what God is doing at Temple. Please find your place to serve and let us know if you need help to get assimilated into this great group of believers.
Grace, Mercy, and Peace,
Pastor H.D.
