John 4:39-42 (HCSB)
The Savior of the World
39 Now many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of what the woman said when she testified, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 Therefore, when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed there two days. 41 Many more believed because of what He said. 42 And they told the woman, “We no longer believe because of what you said, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.”

James Burns Have you ever wondered how revival takes place? How is it that the message of salvation can travel through a group so quickly, and so many come to the Lord. This was the situation when the Samaritan woman testified to the other Samaritans about Jesus and His knowledge of how she truly was and the wonderful gift He was offering her. It started with the spark of her testimony which created interest, and the Samaritans had to see for themselves. Jesus spent two days with them (which was unheard of in that day), and the end result was the saving knowledge of salvation spreading throughout the Samaritans community as they had seen for themselves with their close interaction with Jesus. They realized that they had met the true Messiah and Savior of the world
