Sunday Connect Lesson for August 25, 2024
GOD WORKS THROUGH HARD TIMES
When going through difficult times, remember that Christ understands suffering. He loves you so much that He suffered on the cross for you.
KEY TRUTH: Bad things happen to good (Godly) people (2 Corinthians 11:22–33; 2 Corinthians 12:7–10)
KEY TRUTH: Our sin brought suffering, but God uses it for good for His people (Genesis 3:6, 16–24; Romans 5:3–5; James 1:2–4)
KEY TRUTH: Respond to suffering by helping others who are suffering (Hebrews 4:14–15; Job 2:11–13)
FAMILY CONNECTION: CONTINUE THE DISCUSSION AFTER CHURCH!
How can knowing God cared about the people in the Bible who went through hard times help you when you are going through them? How can their stories help you in your hard times? Does it help to know that even Jesus went through hard times? Does it help knowing that He understands your suffering? How can you use your experiences to help someone who is going through hard times? What verses can you focus on when you are going through hard times?
