Questions for the Week
1. In Joshua 1, we see someone given a new leadership position and new monumental task. Joshua had seen the results of NOT trusting God the first time Israel came to the Promised Land (Numbers 13-14). What role do you think that played in his boldness to enter the Promised Land? Are there times in your life that you are more prone to believe that God will be with you? How does that affect your thoughts, attitudes, and actions?
2. In Joshua 2, it would seem random circumstances brought Rahab and the spies together. There were other towns and other establishments they could have visited to sleep. What are some seemingly random events in your life that were later shown to be God at work? How can you turn random events into an opportunity to share Jesus with the lost?
3. Numbers 13:26-33 discusses the first time that Israel glimpsed the Promised Land. They saw the blessings God wanted to share with them yet turned away in fear. When has your fear outsized God’s will? Did you obey or disobey? How did God grow you through that experience? How has that affected the way that you respond to God’s promptings now? When/where are you more likely to let fear win?
