Psalm 145:1-7 (HCSB)
Praising God’s Greatness
A Davidic hymn.
1 I exalt You, my God the King,
and praise Your name forever and ever.
2 I will praise You every day;
I will honor Your name forever and ever.
3 Yahweh is great and is highly praised;
His greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation will declare Your works to the next and will proclaim Your mighty acts.
5 I will speak of Your splendor and glorious majesty and Your wonderful works.
6 They will proclaim the power of Your awe-inspiring acts, and I will declare Your greatness.
7 They will give a testimony of Your great goodness and will joyfully sing of Your righteousness.

Psalm 145 is one of my favorite Psalms. It’s all about Praising God. David is proclaiming how wonderful God is! Don’t you just LOVE to praise God? I love to sing His praises. In my happiest times it fills my soul with such joy. In my saddest times, praising God gives me a peace and comfort that exceeds all explanation. Verses 1 –7 are all about God’s Greatness and Goodness! I often get so caught up in all of the crazy busyness of the day that I forget just how Awesome, Majestic, Powerful, Righteous and GOOD our Father is! He is so worthy of our praise. And He created us to praise Him! That’s why my heart sings when I sing His praises. Take some time today (and everyday) to focus on God’s Greatness and Goodness and PRAISE HIM with your heart, your mind, your voice and your actions!
