Philippians 2:12-13 (HCSB)
Lights in the World

12 So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose.

Take a look at your church bulletin from last week (or any week, for that matter). We have so many great missions to be a part of in our church. Did you ever stop and ask yourself how (insert Mission A) got started?Someone had to have the vision to put those wheels in motion. Have you ever had that little voice in your head urge you toward something like that and ignore it? Trust me, I have. We see Paul here in Philippians 2 speaking to the church in Philippi and encouraging them to listen to that voice–the voice of God Himself. “His good purpose” that Paul mentions in Verse 13 may look different in all of our lives, which is why some people gravitate to one mission over another. The great thing about Temple is that we have so many places to serve and active believers that are willing to help. And maybe you’re hearing a call for a brand-new mission. Take it to HD. I can tell you from experience that if you’ve got a God laid burden on your heart to pursue, he’ll tell you to get after it!
