Numbers 9:6-12 (HCSB)
6 But there were some men who were unclean because of a human corpse, so they could not observe the Passover on that day. These men came before Moses and Aaron the same day 7 and said to him, “We are unclean because of a human corpse. Why should we be excluded from presenting the Lord’s offering at its appointed time with the other Israelites?”
8 Moses replied to them, “Wait here until I hear what the Lord commands for you.”
9 Then the Lord spoke to Moses: 10 “Tell the Israelites: When any one of you or your descendants is unclean because of a corpse or is on a distant journey, he may still observe the Passover to the Lord. 11 Such people are to observe it in the second month, on the fourteenth day at twilight. They are to eat the animal with unleavened bread and bitter herbs; 12 they may not leave any of it until morning or break any of its bones. They must observe the Passover according to all its statutes.

So, to keep the Passover or not to keep the Passover? To commemorate and celebrate the Passover, or not? Many Christians do and some do not. I personally land firmly in the do not column. Not because I don't love Jews or Jesus. Jesus was a Jew. He celebrated and commemorated the Passover annually His entire life. Paul also wrote two or three different times in scripture that he did as well. They also lived nearly their whole earthly lives in the Old Testament, and both followed, for the most part, Old Testament law. But, as Christ lived, spoke and taught throughout scripture,
He also began to point out that Old Testament rules were going to change. Paul also stated in I Corinthians 5:7-8 to get rid of the old yeast, because Christ (our Passover Lamb) has been sacrificed. Do you know how many Old Testament laws got thrown out the window the second Christ gave up the Ghost? I love to celebrate every Sunday that Jesus is our Passover Lamb! He is our sacrifice! His blood covers our sin to allow the death angel to pass over us without condemnation if we are in Christ! (Romans 8:1-17) The law is now powerless. The Passover was God commanding the Hebrews to remember and celebrate His deliverance of them from the bondage of the Egyptians. True Christians celebrate our deliverance from the bondage of OUR SIN! WHEWWW BABY!! The only reason you can't get excited about that is if you're still in bondage! I'm not implying that you shouldn't celebrate anything Old Testament; I'm just bringing up the fact that there are so many incredible celebrations that have come about since the curtain was torn (Matt 27:51 & Mark 15:38), that I put my energy and celebration time there . . . in the Risen Christ!
