Matthew 3:16-17 (HCSB)
16 After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on Him. 17 And there came a voice from heaven:
This is My beloved Son.
I take delight in Him!
Karen Cothern
Could you imagine... Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all at once? I would fall over! I can feel the weight of all this. All three persons of the Trinity—the Father (speaking), the Son (being baptized), and the Holy Spirit (descending like a dove)—they are all present and active in this single moment, revealing the relational nature of God. I am thankful for the divine affirmation of Jesus, at His baptism. It reveals the triune nature of God and anointed Jesus for His mission to bring peace and salvation. My granddaughter would say it like this... “All my favorites in one place.” This brings so much power to the table. It’s amazing what can happen when you acknowledge whom we are surrounded by. We are never alone. God wants a relationship with His children, and this shows it 100%. If I ever feel alone it's always because I moved, not Him who is the same yesterday, today and forever unchanging God. Glory!
